Mike and I have decided to start a blog to keep tabs on what's going on over here in the adoption process and to help get our shop some more traffic! I have been researching adoption from different points of view and there really isn't much information out there as far as through the adoptive parents view and I want to change that! I want this blog to become a journal of what we will experience in our adoption so that maybe we can help other people get a glimpse of what to expect. Every adoption is different so I'm not saying ours will be the exact way every other one will go but I think being able to look into our lives and follow along with our timeline will help prepare other couples who are considering adoption. We looked at 3 different agencies who each did things a little different. We looked at every aspect very closely and finally decided on the one that was referred to us by another couple that had a very smooth adoption. At this point in the process we are still waiting on reference letters for our application and we are looking at September to get the Home Study process started (which makes me super nervous to even think about right now). We are very excited to get started down this path and hope that this little blog will help to inform other inexperienced adoptive couples!! I am planning a couple of fundraisers to help raise the funds we will need to make this happen, I will post those here and on Facebook to keep everyone updated! In the meantime I have set up a donation site here.
